METHOD FOR MARKING DEFECT OF HDD AND RECORDING MEDIUM FIT TO THE SAME

PURPOSE: A method for marking defect of an HDD(Hard Disk Drive) and a recording medium fit to the same are provided to search a defect position in a state that a disc is separated from the HDD by recording a defect search pattern to inform the defect position on the disc. CONSTITUTION: The first and the second index zone are formed by continuously recording the first pattern data to tracks on an inner and an outer circumference of the disc(S302). The first and the second index marking are formed by recording the second data pattern to positions crossing a straight line connecting a center of the disc and the defect to two index zones(S304). A defect zone is formed by continuously recording the first data pattern to the tracks including the defect(S306). The defect marking is formed by recording the second data to the position crossing the straight line connecting the center of the disc and the defect to the defect zone(S308).
