<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form an excellent toner image while preventing liquid carrier from being wastefully consumed. <P>SOLUTION: Squeegee rollers 51 to 53 are oppositely arranged in a developing carrying area between the developing position 16 of a photoreceptor 11 and a primary transfer position 44, and disposed to move back and forth between a contact position where they come into contact with the developer on the photoreceptor 11 and a separate position where they do not come into contact with the developer. The rollers 51 to 53 are rotated at nearly equal circumferential speed to the photoreceptor 11 in a direction where they follow the photoreceptor 11 at the contact position. The rollers 51 to 53 are arranged at the contact position, they scrape off the liquid carrier from the photoreceptor 11. The scraped-off amount of the liquid carrier is controlled by the combination of the rollers 51 to 53 arranged at the contact position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
