<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose the method of control by which the usable environment of an image forming apparatus is expanded and also the range of a usable medium is expanded in the fixing process of a draft mode in which processing speed is enhanced. <P>SOLUTION: In the case that the draft mode is selected, the control value of the fixing controlled temperature of a heating heater is set higher than the set point of a default mode, and the control value of the heat generating temperature of one or several heating heaters in a fixing unit between the rear end of (n)th sheet of recording material fed and the top end of (n+1)th sheet of recording material is set the same or higher as/than the set point of the default mode. The control value of a temperature detecting element arranged at the outside of the minimum width area of the recording material is changed from the control value of the default mode. A printable area is set smaller than that in the default mode. The basis weight, the kind, the thickness and the trade name of a usable recording material or any of them is announced (on an information display screen or by voice), or the basis weight, the kind, the thickness and the trade name of the recording material which is not fed nor conveyed or any of them is announced (on the information display screen or by the voice) at a paper-feeding part. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
