<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an ink jet recording sheet excellent in ink absorbency, free from bleeding over time, and shows outstanding printing density and resistance to light. <P>SOLUTION: In the method for producing an ink jet recording sheet having a pigment accepting layer on a support, a first coating fluid containing at least polymer fine particles and a water-soluble resin is applied on the support, and a second basic coating fluid of pH8 or more is applied on the support immediately when the first coating fluid is applied (1) or before the coating layer which is formed by the application of the coating fluid shows a declined drying rate in its drying process (2), allowing the coating layer to be cross-linked and cured to form the pigment accepting layer. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
