PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance design efficiency by making effective use of design data created by a DTP or the like.

SOLUTION: A unit dividing part 26a divides design data for printed matter about merchandise into units. Unit storage data including both layout data included in the units and attached data associated with the units are created. For a file of the unit storage data and data used in the layout data, identification data (ID) uniquely determined to correspond to the merchandise are added as the name of a folder or file indicating the place of storage. The unit dividing part 26a stores unit data 34a in a unit database 34 according to the name of the folder or file attached according to the identification data.
