<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a small and inexpensive optical printhead in which difference of exposure is small among respective positions in the main scanning direction and an image can be formed with uniform density. <P>SOLUTION: The optical printhead comprises a shutter opening/closing in accordance with image information, a transparent photoconductor elongating in the main scanning direction, a light source disposed at the longitudinal end part of the photoconductor, and a cover covering the photoconductor. The photoconductor has a convex cross-section wherein the surface of the photoconductor on the long side of the convex cross-section is provided with a light diffusion area in order to serve as a light diffusion surface and the surface of the photoconductor on the short side of the convex cross-section serves as a light exiting surface. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
