<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gas liquefaction device and method capable of producing a safe oxygen-containing liquefied gas, for example, a liquefied air with low oxygen concentration by reducing the oxygen concentration in a liquefied gas to be produced in the liquefaction of an oxygen-containing gas such as air. <P>SOLUTION: This device comprises a compressor 11 for raising the pressure of a raw material gas, a heat exchanger 13 for cooling the raw material gas raised in pressure, a gas-liquid separator 14 for separating the raw material gas partially liquefied by cooling to a liquid phase and a gas phase, a pressure reducing valve 15 for reducing the pressure of the liquid phase derived from the gas-liquid separator after separation, and a condenser 16 for performing the heat exchange of the liquid phase reduced in pressure with the gas phase derived from the gas-liquid separator, thereby liquefying the gas phase to generate a product liquefied gas, and evaporating the liquid phase reduced in pressure. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO</p> |
