PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an idle stop system for suppressing an increase in the number of terminals of a MG control device and suppressing the overcharge of a battery even when the MG control device is in trouble. SOLUTION: The idle stop system 1 comprises the battery 2, a motor generator (MG) 3, the MG control device 4 mounted between the battery 2 and the MG 3 for controlling the MG 3 and having a voltage detector 40 for detecting the voltage of the battery 2, and an idle stop control device 5 for controlling the MG control device 4. The idle stop control device 5 is arranged separately from the MG control device 4 for suppressing the overcharge of the battery 2. When the voltage of the battery 2 detected by the voltage detector 40 is a preset value or higher, it controls generation stop to stop the generation of the MG 3 and warns a driver with the light-on of a charge lamp 53.
