PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a broadcast receiver which can be automatically switched off to avoid power waste and be automatically switched on to view all of the broadcast programs. SOLUTION: The receiver comprises a control means for turning off the power supply after a broadcast signal ends on the basis of broadcast end time information contained in program guide information, and a control means for starting the power supply when a broadcast signal starts on the basis of broadcast start time information contained in the program guide information.
