PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new organometallic complex capable of simultaneously realizing improvement of color purity, high efficiency of luminescence and improvement of durability of a compound itself and effective for organic electroluminescent elements. SOLUTION: The organometallic complex is represented by general formula (I) [wherein m is the number of ligand and represents 1, 2 or 3; L is an arbitrary bidentate ligand and n representing the number is 0, 1 or 2, with the proviso that m+n=(a valence of M); M represents a central metal; Y and Z are each independently a carbon atom or a nitrogen atom; W is a connecting group containing a -CO- partial structure and either one side or both sides of the partial structure are directly singly bonded to N atom(s)].
