PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate to divide/integrate each drive of videocassette recorder equipped with a plurality of drives which can operate even independently without change of cable wiring. SOLUTION: A plurality of drives 1 are connected mutually, and data are transmitted and received between common external instruments connected to either of I/F (interface) & selector 2 or I/F3 by uniting and connecting a detachable data bus connectors 4 mounted on respective drives 1 each other. Adversely, a data bus connector 4 is divided into a plurality of drives 1 by separating each other, and made to become independent mutually and data are transmitted and received between different external instruments respectively. Also, the data bus connector 4 of the drive 1 and a video terminal of a video display monitor are directly united and connected and a recording medium of the drive 1 are displayed on the video. Also, when divided, by prohibiting the recording and delete operation of the drive 1 and permitting playback operation only, the divided drive 1 and the recording medium can be lent to others safely.
