PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a self-adjustment type memory control system and its method capable of improving actual performance in memory control and having a proactive property sensible by a human body and restoration force. SOLUTION: This system includes a mechanism intended for the historical monitoring of memory use, the analysis of memory use, memory refresh by a high-value (for instance, high-usability) page, the efficiency of I/O prefetch and positive disc management. The mechanism functions so as to assign priority to the page by a relative value based on the information of a memory use condition to prefetch and/or keep a relatively useful page in the memory. The page is prefetched and kept in a standby page set with priority including a plurality of subsets, whereby the useful page is left ahead of non-useful pages.
