Inducing an immune response to amyloid beta peptides and amyloid deposits using a synthetic non-amylogenic but immunogenic peptide

Described are synthetic immunogenic but non-amyloidogenic peptides homologous to amyloid â, which can be used alone or conjugated to an immunostimulatory molecule in an immunizing composition for inducing an immune response to amyloid â peptides and amyloid deposits. The graph shows the results of a thioflavin T fluorometric assay. Fibril formation of Aâ1-42, Aâ l-30-NH2, and K6Aâl-30-NH2 was measured in vitro following incubation at 37° C. K6Aâl-30-NH2 was the only peptide that did not form fibrils at any of the time points.
