PURPOSE: A method for detecting a locking state of a sensorless BLDC motor is provided to prevent the damage by comparing the counter electromotive force to a voltage of Vq in a predetermined speed control band and a predetermined torque band and detecting the locking state. CONSTITUTION: The counter electromotive force of a motor is compared with a voltage applied to a torque axis of a motor when the motor is driven in a predetermined speed control band and a predetermined torque band. A locking state of the motor is detected when the counter electromotive force of the motor is more than the voltage applied to the torque axis of the motor. A normal driving state of the motor is detected when the counter electromotive force of the motor is not more than the voltage applied to the torque axis of the motor.
