880,239. Spinning yarns. GOTZFRIED, K. Dec. 29, 1958 [Dec. 30, 1957], No. 41933/58. Class 120(2) Yarns are spun pneumatically by drawing a strand of fibres through a stream of air that is first caused to rotate and then to move in a helical path opposite to the fibre direction. Compressed air following the helical path is combined with a suction air current. Fibres are drawn by a roller 13 through a condenser 12 and passed to a plucking roller 15 that presents fibres or small fibre bunches to a suction nozzle 18 through which they are drawn to a conical spinning zone 1 within a suction pipe 29 and where they are twisted into a strand 20 by the influence of a downwardly and helically moving air stream from a compressed air chamber 9. The air stream initially circles around a twist chamber 4 and then descends in a helical manner losing pressure on the way by the escape of some air to an area confined by a suction sleeve 7. A tubular slide valve 26 may be employed to adjust the air flow. Fibres may be fed to an air tube by drawing apparatus. For fine yarns the lower part of the air tube may be set at an angle to the upper part. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 825,776. |
