PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rolling bearing device for an axle, allowing highly accurate detection of the rotated condition of a rotor. SOLUTION: The rolling bearing device 1 for the axle having a hub shaft 2 rotatably inserted through the inner periphery of an outer ring 31 via a number of rollers 33 comprises a VR-type brushless resolver 10 for detecting the rotated condition of the hub shaft 2. The brushless resolver 10 has e.g. a rotor (a hexagonal nut 6) integrally provided on the side of the hub shaft 2, a stator 12 integrally provided on the side of the outer ring 31, an exciting winding 13, and first and second output windings 14, 15. The brushless resolver 10 outputs a signal having an almost constant amplitude when the hub shaft 2 is stopped and outputs a signal having an amplitude changed non-stepwise with the rotated condition thereof when the hexagonal nut 6 integral with the hub shaft 2 is rotated.
