PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a milling block with which a surgeon can easily keep the edge of an end plate. SOLUTION: The milling block includes (a) a front face to place it on a neighboring vertebral body, (b) a first slot with vertical length formed in a substantially vertical direction on the front face, and (c) a first fixing pin with a base end part having prescribed diameter accepted into the first slot. The length in the vertical direction of the first slot is larger than the diameter of the base end part of the first fixing pin. The milling block is used for a vertebral body milling device for forming a prescribed shape intervertebral disk space between neighboring vertebral bodies of the spine. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
