PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aqueous resin composition which has excellent water resistance, solvent resistance, profitability, and adhesiveness to slightly coatable polyolefin-based raw materials, and to provide a water-based coating using the aqueous resin composition. SOLUTION: This aqueous resin composition is characterized by comprising a composite polymer comprising a polyurethane dispersion and an unsaturated double bond-containing polymerizable monomer and obtained by emulsion-polymerizing the monomer in an aqueous dispersion containing the polyurethane dispersed therein, and chlorinated polyolefin-based resin particles having a chlorine content of≤50 wt. %.
