PURPOSE: A circuit for protecting a PDP module and a method thereof are provided to determine a change in alternating current power of a first side power part in advance, and accordingly control power supply of a second power part and a PDP panel in order, thereby stably protecting the PDP panel. CONSTITUTION: A first side power part(10) receives common alternating power for generating a predetermined constant voltage. A second side power part(20) receives the constant voltage generated from the first side power part for generating driving voltage of a PDP(Plasma Display Panel) module(30) of a PDP TV. A detecting part(40) receives the constant voltage generated from the first side power part for detecting a change of the constant voltage. A control part(50) outputs control signals to the PDP module and the second side power part.
