摘要 PURPOSE: An optical recording medium and a fabrication method thereof are provided to include a recording layer and a dielectric layer formed by being adjacent to the recording layer, and to add nitrogen to the dielectric layer having an oxide as a main component, thereby showing excellent optical properties for a laser beam having a desired wavelength. CONSTITUTION: A recording layer(14) consists of the second recording film(22) formed on a surface of the second dielectric layer(13), and the first recording film(21) formed on a surface of the second recording film(22). A laser beam(L) is projected on a light receiving surface(16a) of an optical transmissive layer(16), and records data on an optical recording medium(10) or reproduces data from the optical recording medium(10). A supporting substrate(11) functions as a support to obtain mechanical intensity necessary for the optical recording medium(10).
