PURPOSE: An apparatus for injecting heat reserving material into continuous casting tundish is provided to prevent reoxidation and temperature drop of molten steel contained in tundish before starting continuous casting by automatically and mechanically injecting heat reserving material into the tundish. CONSTITUTION: The apparatus comprises an apparatus rotation means(80) consisting of a hollow shaft rotationally fixed to casting bed deck(102) of tundish, and a handle(65) for rotating a worm gear that is gear connected to a worm wheel fixed onto the outer circumferential surface of the hollow shaft; a heat reserving material supply means(81) consisting of a heat reserving material hopper(47) fixed to a side end part of cantilever(55) fixed to an upper part of the hollow shaft, a damper(49) for opening and closing a hopper pipe(48) of the heat reserving material hopper, and a wire rope(53) fixed to an one side part of the damper and extended to the other side of the cantilever; a chute rotation means(84) consisting of a chain sprocket connected to a lower part of the hopper pipe by bearing, and third driving motor to which a sprocket connected to the chain sprocket by roller chain is axially connected; a chute expansion means(82) consisting of third chute(23) fixed to chute rotation shaft rotationally inserted into a connection flange clamped onto a lower surface of the chain sprocket, second chute(22) movably inserted onto the outer part of the third chute, first chute(21) inserted into the second chute, and a wire rope(18) extended to a wire drum rotated by third driving motor fixed onto a lower surface of the upper side of the first chute and fixed onto a lower surface of the upper side of the third chute; and a chute tilting means(83) comprising a timing pulley that is gear connected to a worm speed reducer(29) fixed to chute rotation shaft rotationally inserted into the connection flange, and second driving motor(32) connected to the timing pulley by timing belt and fixed to the connection flange.
