PURPOSE: An auxiliary steering mechanism of a steering wheel for a vehicle is provided to reduce impact to a driver by buffering through a spring between a knob and a support member in bumping the driver into the knob at a collision or in suddenly braking, and to detect rotation of the steering wheel by generating torque to the auxiliary steering mechanism in proportion to rotation of the steering wheel. CONSTITUTION: An auxiliary steering mechanism is composed of a clamp(50) fixed in a rim(10) of a steering wheel; a support member(30) combined with the clamp and composed of a through hole; a knob having a body inserted to the through hole, a stopper combined with the lower part of the body and placed in the lower part of the support member, and a ball(41) combined with the upper part of the body; and a spring mounted between the ball and the support member. Brackets(60) are formed in the body and the support member and composed of assembling holes. Thread portions are formed at both ends of the spring, and both ends of the spring are fixed to the brackets by nuts.
