A thermal printer is provided which enables easy maintenance such as an exchange of a thermal head to attain shortening of time for the maintenance and reduction in maintenance cost. A thermal printer (10), in which printing is performed while paper is sandwiched between a thermal head (13) having a heating element and a platen roller (12), is provided with a head support body (15) to which the thermal head (13) is fixed, a lock frame (16) that holds the head support body (15) in a movable state, springs (14, 14) that are formed between the head support body (15) and the lock frame (16), and an outer frame (18) that holds the lock frame (16) and the platen roller (12), and has a structure in which the thermal head (13), the head support body (15), and the springs (14, 14) are made detachably attachable to the outer frame (18) in the state of being assembled with the lock frame (16).
