Navigation device has a computer unit with a stylus, whereby the computer unit receives target data input using the stylus. The computer then determines a route based on the input target data and the instantaneous position of the vehicle. An Independent claim is made for a navigation device that has a communications link to a PDA or a mobile phone, whereby target data is received from the phone or PDA.
