PURPOSE: A device for searching multiple beam-based multiple paths and a method therefor are provided to combine a beamforming method with an existing multiple path searching device structure in 2-dimensional structure, thereby reducing signal interference caused by an increase of users as improving performance and efficiently reducing MAI(Multiple Access Interference). CONSTITUTION: A despreading block(100) despreads inputted I and Q signals, respectively. Accumulators(140,160) accumulate the despread I and Q signals, respectively. A beamformer block(200) performs beamforming processes, respectively, for the accumulated I and Q signals. An energy detecting block(300) detects energies of beamformed signals. A controller(400) compares a detected maximum energy value with a threshold value. If the maximum energy value is bigger than the threshold value, the controller(400) sets a corresponding signal of the maximum energy value to a result value. The beamformer block(200) consists of fixed-beam beamformers(250) configured as many as the number of antennas.
