PURPOSE: A grill heater unit of a microwave oven is provided to prevent concentration of microwave on a hot wire of a heater. CONSTITUTION: A grill heater unit includes a heater cover(202) opened toward a cooking chamber formed in a cavity of a microwave oven; and a heater(100) mounted in the heater cover to be exposed to the cooking chamber in the cavity to heat a cooking object. Width(L1) of the heater cover is a whole-number multiple of 1/2 of wavelength of microwave of the microwave oven. The heater is installed in such a manner that a center of the heater is placed on a location separated from both walls of the heater cover by a whole-number multiple of 1/4 of the wavelength of the microwave in lateral direction of the heater cover. The heater cover is formed integrally with a top plate(200) when the cavity is formed. A heater coupling hole(204) is formed integrally with the heater cover to allow the heater to be inserted thereto. The heater is mounted to the heater cover through the coupling hole. A nichrome wire(102) is built in the heater to generate heat. Contact points are placed on both ends of an inside of the heater to electrically connect the nichrome wire with an outside power source. |
