The display has a display field transparent when switched off. The display field comprises at least one optically transparent layer (1) of homogenous optically transparent material (4), e.g. acryl or vinyl resin. The light emitting elements (2) with respective leads (3) for individually controlling the elements, e.g. pixels, are arranged either on or within the transparent layer (1). The width of the leads (3), as measured on the surface of the layer, is not greater than 0.1 mm, esp. not greater than 0.05 mm. AN Independent claim is also included for a windowpane with integrated display.
