The monitor (12) has two Kelvin connectors formed by connections (36A, 36B) and are configured to electrically couple with a storage battery (18). A processor is electrically coupled to the connectors and is configured to calculate a reserve state of health (RSOH) and a cracking state of health (CSOH) of the battery. The processor determines the state of life (SOL) of the battery as a function of the RSOH and CSOH.
