PURPOSE: A VOD(Video On Demand) service system of a portable terminal and a method thereof are provided to add time stamp information to packets, and to check whether a last packet is received using the time stamp information during a VOD service, thereby correctly detecting a reproduction end time and eliminating a need for an additional timer. CONSTITUTION: A VOD server(201) transmits video and audio data signals. A server time stamp module(207) adds time stamps to each packet of the video and audio data signals. A client time stamp module(206) calculates transmission intervals of the packets of each video and audio data signal to which the time stamps are added by the server time stamp module(207). A VOD client(202) receives the video and audio data signals transmitted from the VOD server(201), and receives the inputted transmission intervals of the video audio packets calculated in the client time stamp module(206). A decoder unit(203) decodes the video and audio data signals received from the VOD client(202) in real time. A display unit(205) reproduces the decoded video data signals. And a speaker(204) reproduces the decoded audio data signals. |
