Method for determining the height of the center of gravity of a vehicle in which a rolling movement of the vehicle about its longitudinal axis is carried out and a representative value measured (phi), a value representing the vehicle transverse acceleration (ayS) is measured and the two values are combined to determine the height of the center of gravity. Said height is determined with the vehicle in a predefined condition. The condition is determined using the change in the rate of roll per unit time. An Independent claim is made for a device for determining the height of the center of gravity of a vehicle.
