PURPOSE: A device and a method for executing an ACU(Applet Code Unit) on a network controller are provided to reduce network load by minimizing a HAVi(Home Audio/Video interoperability) messaging traffic generated by installing the ACU of byte code method from a DCM(Device Control Module) embedded into a device whenever an FAV(Full Audio Video) controls the device. CONSTITUTION: A DCM discriminating module(210) discriminates a DCM implementation method by reading an attribute value of an ID matched with the selected device, and outputs a byte code discriminating signal. A table(220) is installed by matching the ACU with each ID. An ACU installation discriminating module(230) discriminates the installation of the ACU matched with the ID by searching the table. A pointer processing module(240) outputs a pointer signal directing an installation position of the ACU matched with the ID. An ACU managing module(260) requests/receives the ACU from the selected device, installs the received ACU to the table, and outputs the matched signal to the pointer processing module. An ACU executing module(270) reads/executes the ACU installed to the table according to the pointer signal.
