PURPOSE: A user interface method for a compact PCI(Peripheral Component Interconnect) industrial measuring device is provided to offer a compact PCI user interface board including a user defining button and a touch panel processing a complex user interface. CONSTITUTION: An external button recognition routine and a touch panel recognition routine are inserted into a general compact PCI interface. The information for an external button and a touch panel is recognized by an internal microcontroller, is linked with a developed software driver through a compact PCI bus, and is joined to a user application program by a relation. The responsiveness is enhanced by making an internal timing controller read a state of the external button periodically.
