A hydraulic apparatus (10), characterized by comprising a hydraulic pump driven by a drive source (14), a hydraulic pump/motor (52) driven by the hydraulic oil discharged from the hydraulic pump and flowing through an oil passage (50), an inertia body (60) connected to the rotating shaft of the hydraulic pump/motor, an oil passage (62) connected between the outflow port of the hydraulic pump/motor and a load (22), an unload oil passage (64) branched from the oil passage (62), and an open/close valve (68) installed i n the unload oil passage, wherein when the open/close valve is opened and closed, a high pressure is generated in the oil passage (62) by utilizing th e kinetic energy of the inertia body and, since the inertia body is driven by a hydraulic power, the drive source is separated from the inertia body to increase the degree of freedom of the layout of the apparatus.
