[Also in Group XXV] A cable clamping arrangement comprises a conical body 10 with a longitudinal slot 12, to allow insertion of the cable, and internal tapered grooves 14, 16 into which fit slidably internally grooved jaws 18, 20, the jaws being connected by a wire handle 26 shaped at 28, so that the jaws grip the cable lightly in their extended position. The lower end of the handle 26 is bent into a semicircle 30 which butts against the end of the body 10 and prevents the jaws 18, 20 becoming detached from the body. Ears 32 with dots 35 (Fig. 1) are provided in which the shaped ends 38 of a bail 34 are inserted, the bail being supported on an insulator. Alternatively (Fig. 4), the bail ends 34A may be doubled back and inserted in holes 35A. |
