PURPOSE: A system and a method for exchanging an AD(ADvertisement) inserted multimedia file using a P2P(Peer-to-Peer) method are provided to exchange the multimedia file containing an AD file through the P2P method and remove the AD file when the multimedia file is played over predetermined times. CONSTITUTION: Clients(100,200) are equipped with an application program to exchange the multimedia file through the P2P method and insert the AD file to the multimedia file, and provide/request the multimedia file by using the application program. A P2P server(400) connects to the clients through the Internet(300), generates the updated multimedia file by inserting the AD file into the multimedia downloaded to the clients, and plays the AD file inserted into the multimedia file during the updated multimedia file is played by using a streaming technology. A database(500) stores member information, the AD files, the multimedia files, AD information, various statistic data, and charging information, and updates the information by the download information applied from the P2P server.
