PURPOSE: A device for displaying a battery capacity of a cellular phone and a method therefor are provided to continuously measure a battery capacity at predetermined time intervals, and to display the battery capacity on a basic screen of a display device in number type, then to display the battery capacity in graph type as well, thereby enabling a user to easily recognize a remaining battery capacity. CONSTITUTION: A battery capacity detector(20) detects a current battery capacity of a battery(10) on a cellular phone. A memory(40) stores each graphic image with text and battery alarm setup values configured by predetermined stages for the battery capacity of the battery(10). A controller(30) receives the current battery capacity from the battery capacity detector(20), transmits the graphic images or the text of the memory(40) corresponding to the current battery capacity to a screen display(80), and compares the current battery capacity with the alarm setup values of the memory(40). If the current battery capacity is equal to the alarm setup values, the controller(30) transmits an alarm control signal to a sound processor(60).
