PURPOSE: A resonance type induction heater is provided to achieve improved reliability by permitting the self-oscillating half bridge driver integration element to be used even in the resonance type induction heater. CONSTITUTION: A resonance type induction heater comprises an induction heater coil(20) for heating a cooker; an IGBT(11) connected in serial to the induction heater coil, and which turns on or off the current of the induction heater coil; a resonance capacitor(21) which receives the induced electromotive force generated during the turn-off operation of the IGBT, and performs a charging/discharging operation; a phase comparator(15) which stands by at a high output state in the resonance section where a non-inversion input terminal is higher than an inversion input terminal, and is inverted into a low output state when the non-inversion input terminal is lower so as to trigger the CT terminal of a half bridge element(30) through a trigger capacitor(10) connected to an output side; an FET(3) for changing the oscillating frequency of the half bridge element through the change of resistance between a drain and a source; a Zener diode(6) arranged in parallel with the FET, and which maintains the output of the half bridge element at a low state; and an oscillating capacitor(8) for controlling turn-on time of the IGBT.
