PURPOSE: Provided is a manufacturing method of functional beads applied to mat, pillow, cushion, etc, by using minerals emitting far infrared rays and anions and glassy materials(boric acid, fluorite, CaCO3, etc.). CONSTITUTION: The functional beads(3-12mm) with a hardness of more than 6 are manufactured by the following steps of: mixing ground minerals(80-150mesh) such as germanium, tourmaline, jade, elvan, quartz and zeolite with flux such as boric acid, fluorite, soda, CaCO3 and KNO3, and putting the mixture in a furnace(1); melting at 1450-1600deg.C; holding molten materials, moved to a feeder(D) in the furnace, at 1150-1200deg.C to keep viscosity for forming beads; discharging molten materials outside the furnace; pressing the melts by flat rolls(3), facing each other; forming platelet-type melts into a bead shape by forming rolls(4) with grooves making a shape of beads; and polishing for 12hrs to remove joints connecting beads.
