PURPOSE: A controller-driver, a display device, and a display method are provided to perform various functions such as scrolling without increasing a burden on a memory capacity and a power consumption. CONSTITUTION: A display driver includes a memory area(7a,7b) with a storage capacity for storing an amount of image data which is large enough to display a single screen and a memory control circuit(6). Each image data is composed of a plurality of bits. The memory control circuit stores, in a first mode, the entire image data of the plurality of bits into the memory area and stores, in a second mode, a part of the image data of the plurality of bits into the memory area to leave an empty area in the memory area.
