PURPOSE: A portable data storage system using a mobile communication terminal and a management method thereof are provided to reciprocally interwork a data processing device with a mobile communication terminal through a USB interface in server/client structure, thereby performing data synchronizing, changing, and deleting functions based on a synchronous ML(Markup Language) protocol and carrying all mobile communication terminals with flash memories. CONSTITUTION: A data processing device(30) controls input/output functions of a USB interface(31) through a transport layer according to a user request or a user command received from a user interface, and carries out a server function for data synchronizing and data transceiving based on a synchronous ML protocol. A mobile communication terminal(40) is connected with the data processing device(30) by a USB interface(41), accesses an inner flash memory according to the user request or the user command received from the data processing device(30), and executes a client function for the data synchronizing and the data transceiving with the data processing device(30) based on the synchronous ML protocol.
