PURPOSE: An optical record media copying system and method is provided to copy data stored at an optical record media inserted into a CDRW(Compact Disc Re-Writable) drive by supplying power to two CDRWs without need of a PC or other record application. CONSTITUTION: The system comprises two CDRW drives(301, 302). The two CDRW drives(301, 302) are connected via a data receiving and a data transmitting line. The first CDRW drive(301) transmits data to the second CDRW drive(302), and if the data is transmitted, the second CDRW drive(302) notifies the first CDRW drive(301) that the data transmission is completed. The first CDRW drive(301) performs an instruction for checking a state of the second CDRW drive(302), for example being recorded, a memory amount or an error state and at the same time transmits data to the second CDRW drive(302).
