The device has a respiratory activity measuring unit delivering a patients ventilatory activity signal to a ventilator signal analyzer. A hemodynamic measuring unit delivers a hemodynamic signal representing myocardium contractility. Condition modification unit modifies the devices functional parameter if the hemodynamic signal variation is detected in relation with a apnea or hypopnea detection by hemodynamic captor. The myocardium contractility is varied in accordance with increase in blood pressure.
