PURPOSE: A method for preparing high quality magnesium alloy slurry for semi-solid forming in the state that fine spherical magnesium primary crystal is uniformly distributed in liquid phase only by simple process control is provided. CONSTITUTION: The method for preparing magnesium alloy slurry(8) for semi-solid forming comprises the steps of forming single liquid phase magnesium alloy(7) by heating solid phase magnesium alloy; forming solid phase crystallized material(6) by cooling the single liquid phase magnesium alloy to a liquidus line temperature(3); and forming magnesium pre-eutectic(9) using the solid phase crystallized material as an inoculant by cooling the liquid phase magnesium alloy containing the solid phase crystallized material to a temperature between the liquidus line and solidus line, wherein the single liquid phase magnesium alloy is cooled to a liquidus line temperature in a cooling rate of 0.1 deg.C/sec or more, wherein the solid phase magnesium alloy is any one selected from AZ91, AM60, AM50, AS21 and AE42 by ASTM (american society for testing and materials), and the solid phase crystallized material includes Mn, wherein saturation wt.% at the liquidus line temperature + 0.05 wt.% <= content of Mn in the solid phase magnesium alloy <= 1 wt.%, and wherein the liquid phase magnesium alloy containing the solid phase crystallized material is cooled to a temperature between the liquidus line and the solidus line and maintained at the temperature for 1 to 60 minutes.
