PURPOSE: A heat-insulating vibration isolator comprising styrofoam chips and its preparation method are provided, to improve insulation, a sound-absorbing property and an impact-absorbing property by using needle-shaped styrofoam chips for forming many pores. CONSTITUTION: The heat-insulating vibration isolator(2) is a lamellar product formed by mixing 25-75 wt% of styrofoam chips(21) obtained by cutting styrofoam into a needle shape and 25-75 wt% of a binder(22), molding the mixture, drying it and compressing the dried one. Preferably the styrofoam chip has a length of 50 mm or less, and a diameter of a circumscribed circle circumscribing to the section perpendicular to a length direction, of 20 mm or less. Preferably the heat-insulating vibration isolator is a lamellar product formed by mixing 1-10 parts by weight of any pulverized one among waste paper, sawdust and rice bran with 100 parts by weight of the styrofoam chips-binder mixture, molding the mixture, drying it and compressing the dried one.
