PURPOSE: A motor protector useful for a hermetic electromotive compressor is provided to efficiently radiate heat, thereby improving the operating efficiency of an equipment to be protected. CONSTITUTION: A metal header(30) fixes a first terminal(31) and a second terminal(32). A metal housing(10) is fixed at the metal header for forming a chamber inside. A heater(50) is arranged in the chamber to be electrically connected to the second terminal so that a current path is formed between the second terminal and the metal header. An arm assembly(60) is arranged in the chamber with an end of the arm assembly being fixed at the metal housing. The arm assembly includes a conductive moving plate having a moving contact contacting with a fixed contact(40), a thermally-actuated snap operation member placed overlapping the moving plate, and a conductive fixing member for fixing the moving plate and the thermally-actuated snap operation member at the metal housing.
