PURPOSE: A microwave vessels coated with exothermic materials generating heat due to emission of microwaves are provided. Accordingly, the exothermic vessels save cooking time and the amount of electricity used greatly. CONSTITUTION: The lidded vessels for microwave cooking are produced by the following steps of: forming petalite having thermal shock resistibility at 200deg.C or more, into a vessel(10) and a lid(20) shape according to the conventional process of pottery; thermal treating at 800-1000deg.C; sintering vessels or glazed vessels at 1230-1270deg.C, desirably 1250deg.C; spraying liquefied tin on the vessel except a knob(30) after heating vessels at 500-1000deg.C for coating vessels with exothermic materials; applying heat resistant paint or ceramic paint to a SnO2 film(40) formed on the vessels for protecting the film. The vessels such as rice pot and oven having coating film on their sides and bottoms generate heat between 100-500deg.C by microwave.
