PURPOSE: A scraping metal bit type pig is provided to displace scraping metal bits into a foam pig having appropriate density to improve a process for removing scales in an old pipe. CONSTITUTION: A scraping metal bit type pig is composed of a synthetic resin body and a plurality of metal bits(30) attached into the body. The scraping metal bit type pig moves along a pipe to remove foreign substances attached on the inner wall of the pipe. A gap(L1) between a pair of metal bits is within the range from 1.5 to 4 times of a maximum width(W1) of a head of the metal bits. The number of the metal bits mounted into the body is same with pi times of a diameter of the pig body divided with the gap between a pair of the metal bits.
