A honeycomb structural body comprises honeycomb segments formed in a honeycomb structure having a large number of axially passing circulation holes partitioned by partition walls which are connected to each other and formed integrally with each other on the surfaces parallel with the axial direction. The heat capacity at the outer peripheral part is larger than at the center part.
