PURPOSE: Provided is a gap control system for maintaining a gap between rolls of a mixing mill, which is used in producing tire rubber, at an accurately constant level to control the gap using a servo valve, a computer, a position controller and a programmable logic controller(PLC) without the need for a manual work for controlling the gap. CONSTITUTION: The gap control system comprises: gap sensors(3,4) for detecting a gap between a fixed drive roll(1) and a moving roll(2); hydraulic cylinders(6) positioned at opposite ends of the moving roll(2) for controlling the gap between the fixed drive roll(1) and the moving roll(2) using an oil pressure thereof; a position sensor(7) installed in vicinity of each of the hydraulic cylinders(6); a servo valve(8) for controlling the oil pressure of the hydraulic cylinders(6) by being opened or closed according to a gap detected by the gap sensors(3,4); a position controller(9) for controlling the position of the moving roll(2); a PLC(10) for controlling the position controller(9); and a computer(11) for controlling the gap sensors(3,4), the position sensor(7) and the PLC(10) in an interlinked manner in a real-time basis. |
