摘要 PURPOSE: A 2-optical fiber optical ring network is provided to separate a protection channel from a multiplexed optical signal inputted through an optical fiber link, and to switch the separated protection channel or to differentiate an optical path, thereby reducing the number of channels to be processed in a multiplexer and a demultiplexer. CONSTITUTION: Each node(200) comprises as follows. The first separator(210) separates a protection channel from an optical signal proceeding to the first optical fiber link(110). The first add/drop portion(220) performs a channel add/drop process by demultiplexing and multiplexing the optical signals passing through the first separator(210) into many channels. The first switching portion(230) couples the protection channel with the first optical fiber link(110) if a link failure does not occur between neighboring nodes, and couples the protection channel with the second optical fiber link(120) if the link failure occurs. A controller(270) recognizes a switched link, and outputs a control signal for recovering the switched link.
